Can't we have both rocks and birds!!! Why yes, we can. hahahaha Thanks for the morning humor. How in the hell did you find something like that? Is it now possible to Google up ANYTHING? Just Google the words and it magically appears so maybe I should Google "age reduction" to see if I will magically become younger. Jim

Damn Walt, now I am going to drive myself crazy trying to figure out how to incorporate fish. You could be responsible for me loosing the last little bit of my brain. Thank you all for the compliments but orrum you should know that if we have rocks and birds the rocks will soon be covered in poop? @shotgunner. I don't think very many people would want to take out a loan to buy a tiny zen garden but I will keep your figures in mind. I am sure that I could cut my time way down now that I have made a few and have the proper tools to make them (miter saw) but the curved one would still be pretty expensive. Jim

bushmanbilly, you are the one that did not read all. I stated that "fossil fuels will be around for a long time to come". You used up a whole page arguing your point with mrzulu because you got pissed with me because you either did not read or ignored what I wrote. Watch Vuduciel with an open mind that is willing to learn instead of a closed mind that knows it knows everything. It is a series on Netflix that covers the entire planet and how we are killing ourselves. Oh yeah, and they show proof so you do not need to ignore what I say, you can just rant and call them liars. I have given up arguing with people that are so ingrained in their beliefs that they are 100 percent certain there is no possibility they could be wrong. Have you even taken a look at what might be happening instead of just reading Exxon magazine. By the way, Exxon has admitted that they knew they were harming the environment back in the seventies but shortly after releasing their findings they covered it up a short time later. GOOGLE it. Jim

I wonder if Houston,Tx can adapt as easily and efficiently as Vienna? Texas needs more rain! Or Atlantis. Jim

Well Oregon is back on track with our weather patterns,at least in the valley...Rains and cool days so far-the heat will be coming in for the crops and season, hopefully it backs off again in the fall and the rains kick in again for the winter months... We have had some good growing weather with long drizzle spells and some sun shiny days. I have a feeling that the farmers around here are happy so far but the variables can destroy that feeling very fast. Jim

Weird is cool. Everything else is boring as hell jamesp. Even if you have to sleep with one eye open it is way better than not having any excitement in your life. A little adrenalin once in a while keeps your heart strong. Down side is trying to keep your stomach in good shape. Jim

I predict that bushmanbilly will defend his livelihood to the death OR until he gets a job working for the solar power industry. I don't blame you Billy because you are trying to raise kids which is tough even when the work is good but if you start planning for a change now it will make it easier than waiting for the crash to drag you down if it hasn't happened already. Change sucks but it is doable especially if it is done while an industry you are switching to is fairly young and growing rapidly. Fighting to survive in a dying industry gets tougher every year. Fossil fuel will be around for a long time to come but new energy is growing rapidly everywhere. Lots of bucks to be made by people getting in now instead of later. JMHO Jim

Harbor Freight sells online also. The glass blade just has smaller diamonds so they do not chip the glass but will cut anything up to 9 mhos. They need to be dressed a little more often with an old grinding stone or a brick because the diamonds do not stick out as far and the brass can slide over them easier. The blades are made pretty much the same as the other tile blades.
I like them because they make a smoother cut and if I am cutting a slab it does not have large chips taken out of it. My guess is that the porcelain blade Tela mentioned is made about the same way because porcelain chips easy also. Jim

If the photographer would have been just a little bit to the left it could read "decapitation prohibited".
They are cutting jobs by reducing the number of things they have to mow around. But the good thing is that the jobs still there can not be sent overseas. Oh crap, just had a thought. They are probably going to start sending our dead overseas to be buried to save on the digging costs. I could probably get a grant from the clowns so I could do a feasibility study. Woo Hoo, I am going to be rich. Jim

A glass cutting blade at a hardware store will run from 20 to 35 bucks and they cut a lot smoother than a tile blade. Jim

I just dug mine out and it has very similar dendrites just not as many. It is from Butte Montana. Jim

I have a slab from Montana but it isn't nearly as nice as that stuff. Still could be from there though because my one nice slab may not be some of the best from there. Jim

Welcome from north central Wyoming, a hop, skip and a jump from Yellowstone Park. Nice rocks you have there. I do not tumble any more but love the finished product in glass bottles. Answer to your question: It ends with death. Not from the rocks or the hobby but from old age at which time you will have way too many rocks and a big smile on your face. Your pace of picking up rocks will jump up to "gotta have more rocks, gotta have more rocks to feed my machines". Probably not to the point of kicking sand into the face of someone else picking up beach rocks but you may try to talk them into giving it to you. haha You landed here so you are on the right track. No dumb questions here so do not have a problem with asking about anything. Jim Yeah I think you are right, but let's not tell my husband. WOW Yellowstone, I do envy your great nature and rocks We are going on a 6 weeks roadtrip this summer and Yellowstone was on my wishlist, but it ended up to far away from our route and end station. So maybe next time. Question: I love your agats and jasper, but do you have to go into a mine to find it or can it be found everywhere? Too bad you are going to miss our natural wonder. Next time make it a must see but plan way ahead if you are going to make reservations. I have never dug for a rock other than freeing the portion that is stuck in the top soil. The geology of this area is: Once a sea bed, once or twice buried in hundreds of feet of ash from Yellowstone blowing up, glacier push from the north and river wash from the mountain ranges on the east and west. I have gathered Montana and other agates, coral and other sea creatures as high as 9000 feet above sea level, many jaspers, jade (nephrite), orthoclase, feldspar, several different colors of granite, many different pet woods, common opal, gold (very little from a lot of work), and uncountable unidentified and forgotten pretties. There are dino bones in the area but I have not been lucky enough to find some and break the law by picking them up. I call this place "the land of nothing but rocks" and a lot of them are not named because there are very few people here to hound them in enough abundance for them to get known like "laguna agate" or "owyhee jasper" plus the geology has stirred things up so bad anything that was in abundance at one time, in one place, is now scattered far and wide like your sea pebbles. At best we can have some idea how far they have traveled by how round and smooth they are but only a geologist in this area can make a close guess. Here is a large sandstone slab mixed in with a lot of basalt and many many other types of stone in a fifty foot high hill exposed by a river. The only way that can happen is by a lot of movement over a long period of time. My son is an artifact hunter and has just about every type of stone tool ever found from earliest man in North America. Hope I did not make you sad by showing you some of what you will be missing but I am sure your trip will be a success no matter where you go. Jim

Maybe I should also say that the 120 posts is misleading because in a past life I had over 5020 posts and in my avatar I am the duck. Jim

When you work with the chips and CA how do you add them? Install chips then add the CA, other way around or mix and install? I noticed a slow CA at Ace hardware yesterday that gives a little extra time to set things before it locks up. Curiosity spiking here. Jim
