Tease! I like your astronaut picture. But what do you think about the Bermuda impact? it would explain how Methane bubbles are always coming up and sinking ships,in the air, sinking planes.

Something Drastic happened about 13,000 years ago. All the mega animals of North America Perished, including the Humans that made the fluted Arrow points. The Western America was covered by "the Black Mat". What did it? One theory, advanced by Allan O. Kelly, in his book "Impact Geology" is that an Asteroid crashed into the Bermuda Triangle area, tilted the earth 30 degrees on it's axis, moved the north pole to a new location, freezing the Mammoth herds that were previously in a warm area. You will have to get his book to find out what else happened

For you California Folks: The unknown Carlsbad Ca. Astrobleme, Recognized by Allan O. Kelly, can be seen on this photo of Hedionda Lagoon. Black arrows point to it and it's smaller companion. It is outlined by white triangles on this Ariel photo taken in 1968. As seen on Google earth: Elevation Profile Now being covered with streets and homes. Geology of rocks in the area proclaim it hit some time after the Cretaceous.

I remember the old adage (unrelated) that all Gaels are Celts, not all Celts are Gaels. So I’m seeing with rock types and subtypes the same similar confusion. Agates are sub-cat of Chalcedony? Amethyst is sub-cat of Quartz? When speaking of quartz in terms of properties/tumbling, does that include all subtypes as well? Is there a chart that shows the major types and sub types of that type? Are there metamorphic types and igneous types of the same material? Just a lot of questions in general. Books from my local library are…sparse…and what I read ain’t stickin cause I have no contextual reference. SiO2 is a strange critter, It exists so Manny ways.

Would it be vice versa or the same in the Southern Hemisphere? Depends on which directions the land is moving. Will the land in the curve be pulled apart, or compressed?

When faults turn right or left, totally different things happen. Turn right and the land in the Middle is pulled apart, the land drops until it gets then enough for volcanoes to break through. Turn left and the land in the middle gets shoved together, breaking rocks up as they are compressed and building mountains. Ok this is fascinating to me...what are we talking about here Dave? Is this already known? Yes, long time known to geologists. It is what happened at The Dead Sea, Death valley, and the Salton Sea.

That blade has a lot of side wear, there may be some alignment issue that will cause ripples in your cuts. Do something to straighten it out or buy a new blade.
