They were watching for people selling in the parking lots. I was in the parking lot with a dealer who was showing me a limb cast and we were approached by one of the event staff.

Be aware that the tile saw blades are engineered for softer materials such as granite, ceramics, tiles, marble, etc. They are not very good for the harder agates or jaspers. You will want a lapidary blade. Home Depot, Lowes, and rental companies rent tile saws. Try several and see which style you like.
I only use a tile saw for cutting down the matrix on trilobite plates, fossil fish plates, etc. The speed, accuracy, and ease of a rock saw exceeds a tile saw.

Thanks for the link. I did see them at the P'ville Pow Wow, come to think of it, but I did not make the connection. Doi! But I was only there for a brief time early on Thursday morning and I did not get much sleep the night before (it was really cold there Wednesday night). On this topic though, I have been talked into trying diesel fuel, with one qt of Non Detergent 30 wt motor oil added per 5 gallons of diesel. Some have been using this saw cutting 'oil' mix for years in very hot conditions, with very good results. $15 for 5 gallons. Rocks cut with diesel will have that smell for a long time. Good Luck with having a display of diesel cut rock in your house, especially near a window that gets sun.

Looks like a heavy bugger. Shipping costs probably offset the low price.

Can't caution enough. Safety safety safety. To be honest as the wheel has worn down I haven't used the gloves. I would like to build something better. Thanks for the caution. I approach this thing like I approach riding a motorcycle with a lot of forthought. I'd like to put a foot switch on it for engaging power. I'm not sure how to go about it though. The foot switch cord will need three plugs (nema 5-15). The foot switch should be momentary contact aka kill switch. woodworker.com/electric-foot-switch-momentary-mssu-908-190.asp?gclid=CNS7kvT9rM0CFQdbfgod2EEOrw908-190 - With the momentary switch, press and hold down to run; release to stop. Rated at 15A.

If you are running this dry, be sure to use a properly rated dust mask. Silicosis is a horrible way to die.

Here is a video of the 3A. Compare it to your Sears model. Replacing the parts is easy.
