Looks like an awesome Dryhead Agate colorwise but the matrix looks more like Mexican stuff, maybe a really fancy Laguna. Whatever, it's a gorgeous specimen!

Wow, I love seeing pics of your finds from that area. I personally think Prairie Agates are very underrated. I've seen some beautiful scenic ones when cut and bubble gums make one of my favorite tumbles.

Grandview Gold Mine site near Lucerne Valley, CA has lots but the color is kind of ehh, kind of gray and white tones. Area us full of Mojave Rattlers too.

Howdy folks, Have another 20# medium flat rater for sale. This one is about 2/3 Petrified wood from Greer's Milky Ranch next to Petrified Forest or from over by Woodruff, AZ. Topped the box off with a few hunks of George West, TX wood. Emptied my AZ wood bin so I threw in a few tumble sized pieces left over too. $60.00 for the box shipping included. Pay Pal , U.S. only.. First Pm gets it. Thanks Mel AZ_TX wood mix by lonerider652000, on Flickr

Looks like a classic "Pecos Diamond" wind-worn double terminated quartz crystal.

Yeah, I'd lean towards fancy Indian jasper from the Deccan Plateau also.

Yeah. dumortierite is actually dumortierite in quartz and runs pretty hard, though I have tumbled some that is softer than mohs 7. Trade name used to be "Desert Lapis" and the color always reminds me of a fresh pair of bluejeans. Stuff I have is actually hard to get a good shine on in the tumbler.

We're all limestone and chert where I live here in Texas too. I'd say those are all natural stones and unworked. The last one looks closest to a worked piece but then chert tends to break naturally with conchoidal fracture so that could just have a couple breaks due to natural collisions with other rocks.

Rockpicker: Interesting. Sounds like your area was an environment similar to the " Turritella" Actually Goniobasis tenera agatized freshwater snail deposit out at Wamsutter, WY. We have actual saltwater Turritella sp. snail deposits here in Texas but unfortunately, though the snails are sometimes agatized, the matrix is limestone and rather blah.
