You're purple! Seriously, stunning work. Ammolite is a wonderful organic gemstone, and you've paired it with another organic. Great design. I have 2 ammolites I bought 3 years ago and still not sure what to do with them! Thank you- I love ammolite. I bought a bunch of them about 15 years ago. The same seller has more than tripled the cost of them. Glad I got em then! I made the clever decision to buy just one piece of Fordite every year at our big gem show here. Very clever! The prices have gone thru the roof and I'm no longer buying any unless it's a good piece for a good deal. The ammolite is now cheaper than Fordite.

Somehow I missed this. What a beautiful wrap! I love chrysoprase myself. You're using sterling, right?

Just stunning! Working with the small earring stones must have been frustrating. I can see them flying across the room several times Well done!

Yeah, that wire can really do a number on your fingers. Plus, I play guitar so it's a double-threat. Ha.

Whatever it is, it's very cool. But like you, I REALLY want to know what stones I've used so I can tell whoever buys it.

Well, don't forget, Fordite is a finite resource. Hasn't been made since 1977, not easy to find even tho I've heard it's super easy to cab, but finding the right pattern in the cab takes experience. Bowling balls won't ever be a limited resource, unless who knows what happens. As long as the car companies keep painting the plastic bumpers and exterior trim pieces their will be Fordite being produced. They can not use electrostatic paint process on plastic so there is still over spray in the process of painting plastic. Automotive plastics is my trade. Just because it is not old does not mean it is not Fordite. I have some from just about every era and prefer the colors and metallic's of the newer stuff. I have a 12 ounce piece that is so old it came off of a wooden automotive paint rack (still has wood attached). That stuff is crazy hard on the mohs scale. Chuck Wow. I thought OSHA sunk their teeth into the overspray thing, making it obsolete. Didn't know there was still some going on, it's not mentioned on any of the articles I've read. Thanks for the update.

Thanks rockjunquie , coloradocliff and icatz I wish the bowlerite was half as popular as the fordite. I have a kid that is a competitive bowler so at any given time he has about 10 bowling balls. High end balls are not cheap either. Usually run $150-200 each so it would be nice to be able to make pendants from the old ones to pay for the next ones. Wishful thinking.
