I like the blue lace also. I recently finished a bunch of that. Makes pretty tumbles.

Hello Again Garage Rocker, thank you for the explanation about getting decent pictures posted. I will sort out getting an account lined up with Flickr and get some pictures downloaded to that site. I will then send you a PM. Err, sorry, but I will need help with sending you a PM, I do not know how to do this. I am a wiz at sending email and taking pictures and answering the phone on my smartphone, but anything else, swoosh, way over my head. it takes time and many tries, but I do get there eventually. Cheers,jw Just come back to this thread, click on my username and that will pull up my profile. You will see a 'send message' button over on the right side. Hit that and you can send me a message. We'll work it all out from there.

Hello Garage Rocker, First, thanks for replying to my post about the agate/fossil picture. Your agate looks great and the polish is awesome. I will get there someday. Can you do me a favor and tell me how you got such a great image to post. It took me a long time to figure out how to get the images to appear and they did not turn out too well. How did you get such a large size to transfer? Cheers, johnw John, if you are using the attach photo function here on the forum, you are limited to a 1MB file size. If you want to add larger, more easily viewable photos to your posts, you will need to host your photos on a third party photo hosting site. I'm a big fan of Flickr, as are a good many other members here. Start an account there and add your photos to that site. Once you have done that, it's a matter of copying a file and attaching that file here within your post. There is a share feature on Flickr that allows you to copy the BBC code and then attach it here. It's not hard, but takes a minute to figure out. If you want to go that route, get some images downloaded and send me a PM. I'll walk you through the process to get them posted up here. Welcome to the forum! ETA: you can also share a whole album, if you choose, with a simple link on Flickr. flic.kr/s/aHskVZ42Ch

I woke up today, looked at the calendar, and realized I missed Valentine's Day. Not a big deal in our house, as alot of stuff has been going on. Wife didn't do anything either. No harm, no foul. If we went back in time, there are far more events that we have both forgotten than we remember. If I were to guess, "someone" usually forgets the anniversary, for example. This was proven a few years ago when I realized I'd forgotten our 25th wedding anniversary and realized it two weeks after the fact. Did I do anything then? Hell no. I wanted to see how long it would take for the wife to remember the anniversary. She realized it one week later. We're in a great place, and we don't hold alot to commercialized holidays. YMMV. We always forget our anniversary. We don't don't feel bad about it, either. I couldn't even keep track of how long we'd been married til I realized it was in the year 2000. That makes it easier. We lived together for a very long time before that. I think that's why the marriage date is no biggie. I just did the math. We've been together for 27 years this April. Seems like only a few years. We have a running joke around here, at least I do. I am bad with the calendar, she is bad with the clock. I don't worry about birthdays, anniversaries, or anything in the past. She, on the other hand, can't get anywhere on time. I guess the only way we get things done is together.

We don't do cards and I don't get her flowers. A nice box of chocolate covered strawberries is good for the whole family. Of course, a fine blue labradorite pendant by Tela doesn't hurt. Is that too commercial? How'd she like it? She really liked it! We have to get her a chain to go with it now. More challenging though, we actually have to go out somewhere so she can wear it. The boys kind of took it as their gift to her. They were trying to decide how they could both hand it to her. They were really impressed!

I hate to be a bah-humbug but my wife and I agree to NOT participate in the commercialized fake holiday called Valentines day. We say our "love you's" every day and are working together toward some goals that will not benefit if either one of us goes running out and spending a bunch of money on a fake holiday. I am planning on surprising her in a few weeks - once V-day is in the rear view mirror - by finally wrapping one of her favorite cabochons that we put aside over a year ago. I didn't see you bah-humbugging steak and BJ day over in Tela's thread though. Don't worry, I don't expect a response to a gutter comment like this, from someone in your high position.

Chocolate is not overrated, especially when there's a strawberry dipped in it.

Great selection and, of course, super shine, Chuck! You need to talk ChicagoDave into getting in and out of the tumble game a time or two more. He left you with some sweet material each time. ETA: that second to last pic is my favorite. It looks flawless!

I commend you for following through on this. Hearing my own voice on video would be enough for me to scrap the whole idea. Of course, it doesn't ever sound bad to anyone but yourself. Crazy, how we hear ourselves in our head is so different than when presented with it on tape.

View AttachmentView AttachmentView Attachment Finally, here are the images. I would really appreciate any help in getting this hemispherical indentation identified. The agate is from Bahia in Brazil and came from The Rock Shed. I stopped tumbling it after the 60/90 phase since its kinda special. I have some other agates that I will be posting for comments, er, now that is after I have finally figured out how to send pictures:-). Cheers, johnw I've tumbled a lot of Bahia agate from the Rock Shed and many of them have those circular eyes. I don't get too involved with the geology aspect, other than to be amazed at the many variations of agate, so I'm no help there. I just like to tumble them and make 'em shiny.

I think you've already got some fine advice from others. I like the narration better than a music soundtrack. Very informative. Seeing the pendant in hand also gives a better sense of scale than a picture. Hope this is wildly successful for you.

We're pretty much just the land of limestone, without much else (at least Signal Mountain). We have a few abandoned coal mines, but I've never seen any indication of anything but limestone where the road comes up the mountain. Here's a pic from summertime thanks to good ol'Google. The main portion of the blue ice was located in the curve straight ahead. Now that looks like a fun road to drive , NOT ! You know the curves are bad when you look out your window and see the back of your car beside you!

The politics behind wars is confusing. My father's immigrant great grandfather was German. The entire family was ethnically German. Now, the ones who are left in the Old Country are French. Alsace Lorriane went back and forth between countries pretty often. I have been in touch with a family who are in France. They are very French. Great people, but they identify as French, not German. I spent a summer studying in Strasbourg. Definitely a mix of German and French influences. Another summer spent in Rennes and it was a totally different feel. Very cool project, adrian65!
