Hang in there rockyron. I agree with Jugglerguy. Roger isn't being a wise ass, I think he gave a thoughtful answer. Don't read into the use of italics or quotations. I commented in another thread about the difficulty in reading someone's intent when reading words. Keep asking questions and have fun learning about this fun hobby. Check out archived posts if you haven't already. There's a lot of good information in there.

Villagers put frozen 'meteor' in fridge January 23, 2018 Indian villagers were so excited by a frozen "meteor" that crashed into a farmer's field Saturday that a few gathered pieces of the rock and stashed them in their refrigerators. Meteorites can be worth thousands of dollars, but this unidentified falling object was not from outer space. According to the Indian Express and the International Business Times, the yellow-brown "meteor," weighing around 20 pounds, had a transparent surface and resembled ice. The impact created a 1-foot-deep hole in the field. Indian villagers hoped the rock that fell on a farmer's field would be similar kind of meteorite. "I rushed to the spot and saw the object. It seemed to weigh at least 8 or 10 kilograms, judging by the dent it had made on the ground," the Indian Express quoted Govind Singh as saying. "Initially, we thought it could be ice but it was not melting. So, we figured it must have some kind of chemical in it." Eventually a team of scientists from the India Meteorological Department was assembled and collected samples of the object at the site. Their verdict: The meteor was actually frozen feces. The news was a setback for the souvenir collectors, who realized their refrigerators were preserving airplane lavatory poop. They had to clean the appliances and anything else in their houses that had come in contact with the frozen excrement. Airplanes jettisoning human waste is apparently a problem in India. Only 10 days ago the government reiterated a December 2016 order forbidding airlines from emptying their toilet tanks mid-air, the Indian Express reported. The fine for dumping is 50,000 rupees ($782), a penalty that may not be draconian enough to get the airlines' attention. In 2016, a woman from Madhya Pradesh suffered a severe head injury after she was hit by a frozen football-sized chuck of frozen sewage, according to the International Business Times. Sure sounds like a sh!thole to me.

That's a beautiful piece, Dave. I, too, think it would be best served kept intact. If you can manage to get it face polished, even better!

Happy Birthday, Chuck! You seem to have found a balance in your life, between family, a job you do well (and I assume you like), and a hobby you love and excel at. We can all hope for the same. Hope it's a good one for you!

Beautiful egg, but more importantly, I love the feel good story to go with it. I've been on the wrong end of the deal many times. Love it when someone makes a bad situation right. That's the way it should be. Kudos to Aaron! We need more like him.

Stop twisting my arm! ouch! stop that! Ok Ok I'll keep that piece! dang man, that wasn't nice. My first thought was Turkish too but I have seen KY that kinda sorta has those colors - if you told me it was KY I was fully prepared to soil myself. Don't get your Depends out just yet! I have given away most of my KY agate. Wish I had more to share. What I have left isn't really that desirable for lapidary purposes. I'd like to see what you can do with this piece though.

I have the box ... I will repack it tomorrow and get it back on the road headed south y'all. Garage Rocker - quick question - what is this? View AttachmentI think it's called tommycabituprite. I was going to attempt some crude tile saw/Lot O cabs out of it, but couldn't make myself do it. Those pencil marks will erase. I assumed it was Turkish in nature. Bottom half looks like stick agate, but that fortification is nice, huh? I can give you my source, who can probably tell you for sure, if you'd like. Let me know.

That piece just screams 'skill'. Or maybe it's 'talent'. I can't tell, I'm too busy looking to listen. Beautiful!

Why do pets always throw up on a rug/carpet versus hardwood/tile, even if the ratio is 80/20 in favor of the easier to clean surface?

I think it's impossible to get 50 lbs of rock in a MFRB. Likely 25 lbs is max. However, I'll go for a box, if it's stuffed full.

Very nice mixed batch, Chuck. Glad to see a batch of rocks posted on here. I always love bots and Brazilian agate, but I'm liking the rose and rutilated quartz, too. You always have nice tiger eye, also. Thanks for sharing and glad you had good enough weather to get out and do pics!

Looks great! That black stone in the first picture, I'm 87.92% sure that's more of my flint... Probably... π€π€π
Garage Rocker, that colorful piece of flint is a part of the hunk I spent hours chiseling out of the wall of flint. Walt ( manofglass) cut it for me. π I'm particularly proud of that one. π Well, great! Turns out I have all the flint I need. I can spend the Flint Ridge meet and greet drinking and talking, instead of swinging a hammer. I think that little piece was well worth all your sweat and tears, now that I have it. I'll be sure to send you pics when it's done! Thx!

I have the box repackaged and ready to go out to Tommy tomorrow. There may be as much tape on the box as rocks in the box. That thing is solid. It came to me stuffed full, so I had to make some room in order to get anything in there. Finally got a day in the forties today, so I was able to get the tile saw out. There were, and still are, several big pieces in there taking up a lot of room. I decided to grab a few and break them down. Here are the pieces I cut:
I kept the small, tumble sized pieces of Unakite(?), something black, and the smaller portion of, what I guess is, Indian Paint Stone. There is still a nice thick portion of that left.
Still, I needed to make some space so here is the rest I removed from the box:
I really liked the small, colorful Flint Ridge piece and crazy lace. I also took the bigger chunk of Flint Ridge, but don't worry, there are still three more big chunks in there. I couldn't fit my stuff in there without taking it.
Here is the material I added to the box:
Someone with some trim saw skills should be able to get a few unique tumbles out of this KY agate piece.
And also a couple Bahias, some Botswana agate, a decent Montana and a pre-ground Rio.
Hope everyone down the line enjoys the box, there's definitely a lot of material to look at. And some nice, soft, velvety pouches too! Thanks for putting this together, Cody! (I didn't take any of your pouches, by the way. They must have worked...nothing broken.)

Great looking spheres, Roger. Hard to pick a favorite in that group. I'm a sucker for Pietersite, but they're all beautiful.
