So I know most on here, not all,are opposed to recreational marijuana. This is not the question. The question is. . . . didn't the right champion states rights and smaller government? How is cracking down on the states that allow recreational weed, more DEA, more court employees, more Jailers, ETC going to conserve tax dollars. How is it going to create smaller government. Look at the tax dollars collected in Colorado, times it by 50. Then look at the national debt, divide it by this # and lets talk conservative principals. Vic

Yes the ring is Morrisonite I used to have access to a centrifugal caster. I cast the dragons from a wax pattern. The claws also.

Do you not feel the Devcon is just another glue. Will it not fail over time? Vic I use Devcon plastic steel, not a clear epoxy resin, so it's on a different level than "glue". I seriously doubt it would degrade in 100 years! There have been Caterpiller bulldozer engine blocks patched with this stuff! Just to be clear, I will use the plastic steel to repair previously glued in stones, but do not make jewelry that I can not bezel set. I see way too many pieces that are missing stones that were set with clear epoxy and I have vowed I will never use the stuff! [ Thanks. Vic

I always make my ring shanks about 1/4 size small and stretch them to size on a mandrel to work harden them.

I make a lot of this style ring. Mostly with Turquoise or other Copper mineral stone. Some with a Silver snake. Feedback? PS I will try to work on the blurred cell phone pics.

Thanks, I took it from my wifes jewelry box. I made it years ago. You can really see the tarnish and dirt in the out of focus photo. LOL The ring is my first prong setting. Inspired by the folks on RTH. You can see I have not cleaned all of the red rouge off. I just snapped a couple of pics with my phone to see if the tapatalk would work. I had given up on ever posting any photos of my work. Vic

Since you are open to suggestions and want to continue with metal working, may I suggest that you get some files- a large #2 and some needle files? Also, and this is just kinda a thing with me, I love to see finished edges with a burnished shine. A steel burnisher really puts a nice shine on things and can cut down on some of the finishing work on the edges. These things are cheap, but you will wonder how you ever did without them. I know you are on a limited budget. They have a pack of assorted needle files at Harbor Freight for about $6.00. they may not be the best quality, but copper and silver are soft. I have had mine for 10+ years. Vic

Nice job. I am lazy, I cut everything a little big with shears and use a flex shaft to clean it up. Also when you flatten the metal it will work harden. It will need to be annealed before bending the tabs. Vic

I saw it on face book again $80,000 now. Vic What group? The group I pulled the screenshot from has not been updated to the lower amount. Edit: actually it's been deleted from that group Lapidary Equipment Marketplace
