A happy rock! Very cool. Must be before it got thrown in the tumbler for the torture. LOL! Kids are so awesome. My grandkids are not little anymore and I think my kids are done having kids. Except maybe my middle dau. She has no kids, yet, but desperately wants one. It's been very, very difficult for her and it brings her immense pain. We still have hope, though. I know you must hear it all the time, but seriously, they grow up so fast- cherish and protect their childhoods. When are you due? Do you know if it is a boy or a girl, yet? I never wanted to know, but it was a pretty imperfect science when mine were being born, so they may have been a moot point. Found out today it's a girl due Oct 6. Anna Grace is what we'll call her π

Quartz doesn't scratch it or a butter knife but a screw does

I tried scratching all the pieces with part of broken glass and it didn't scratch any of them. I don't have acid to test with? Any other suggestions?

Much better pics. Are those local finds? I didn't find them (though I'm ready to start!). So, I'm unsure origin. And thank you - I took your advice!

I'll get pictures in sunlight tomorrow. Thanks for all the pointers. I'm very open to constructive criticism- it's the best way to learn and improve!

Rebecca Where are you? Pics 2-3 look like they could be coral from the deep southeast. I'm in Florida.

I believe it's agate and jasper. Those pictures are wet to show the colors. I can do a dry picture if that would be better. Lotta money for an unknown rock. Your pictures don't flatter your wares. Sorry to bear bad news. I pray you appreciate my honesty. I do appreciate your honesty! I'm still learning and a local here (not the forum 'local' but geographically local)had suggested that price. I'm open to offers on origin and id unknown!

Lots of potential in that one. I know! Thinking about renting a saw so I can show it off some more!
