I've had an all day engagement today, just got home. Otherwise, I'd have said something sooner. There are several members that have been on the forum recently, having birthdays today:
Happy Birthday to snuffy, Randy Garage Rocker, and fvpty.
We are all family, and I just can't let the day go by without acknowledging you! Everyone is important!
Hope you all had a wonderful day!
Jean Thanks to all from my little country ! Have recived lots of specimens from all my family that knows these hobby is the best in the world ! Thanks to all and happy birthday to all in these special day ! πππ€ͺπ€©

if it doesn't react with the acid calcite is out stilbite is a very good possibility as it is another zeolite and many times when there is one there may be more it is very possible that all 3 i.e. apophylite, mesolite and stilbite may be present a bow tie structure is often associated with stilbite and there appears to be kind of a crude cluster in the last photo resembling one if there are any kind of radiating hairlike crystals they would be indicative of mesolite but these aren't really very good parameters to identify with just kind of genaralities and fairly common to the other crystal formations. With all the reflections it is hard to differentiate the actual crystal structures of the more drusy type specimens. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it nice specimens BTW Thanks for your comments It does have a super druzy gemmy shine at direct light at sun will up load a little short video.

it looks like there may be a mixture and would not be surprised if they are zeolites maybe mesolite and apophylite in fact the more I think about it I am more convienced Agree on these 3 Apophyllite & Calcite & Stilbite ! But dosent react by (muriatic acid ) can these be posible ?

I agree that some of the crystals look like calcite. For the others, I'd look for minerals that form in association with calcite (there are many, including ankerite, aragonite, barite, barytocalcite, cerussite, chalcopyrite, dolomite, fluorite, galena, hematite, huntite, minrecordite, prehnite, pyrite, quartz, siderite, sphalerite, etc.). You may want to google calcite + panama + geology to see whether there are any books or papers describing your area. Thats the problem not much info and specimens have a little bit of everything ... π€―

Very beautiful and then some, in so many ways. How dense is it? That would help determine cleaning method. I have been liking the Biz detergent for cleaning fragile crystals. I soak overnight and use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub. Have a good weight so think most of it is not coral ... havent weight yet ! Well was a coral you know what I am talking about see the photos you see agate etc...

That makes a very nice specimen that illustrates how agates/chalcedony, opal and other materials form in cavities within vesicular basalt and similar (as opposed to seams or flows). Your piece also is an example of how one chamber can often be completely filled, surrounded by other voids in which there isn't even a trace of filling. Since there is usually no detectable point of entry for the material, it makes for a little geological puzzle. It do have some small geodes will up load some picβs its a relley nice specimen that trully explain the process of all ... thanks for your ping point comments ππ» Here are some picβs for more detail of the specimen... the cube is a cut from a near pice of the large stone . Apears to have little bubbles but when you magnify yo see they are all micro geodes here are the pics from the specimen and the pics from the small cut pieces taking out the specimen from matrix ....

No don't think I would call it scoria, my thoughts are and this seems consistent with the geology is that it would be volcanic ash which is basically a (pyroclastic) rhyolite. π€k Have been thinking about it ... maybe a jasper.... mix with scoria and some limestone ... the stone is not that to much like glass texture is more like glass limestone ... π€― Jaspers are also known to form when volcanic ash or fine pyroclastics are cemented into a solid material from the precipitation of silica from solution. The cementation process is sometimes so aggressive that the sediment, ash or volcanic particles are dissolved or recrystallized into microcrystalline quartz...think maybe be some of these and some more combinations but all get to the same area jasper ... These es the back of the video rock in Id at 10x have small incrustations of pyrite... ππ» Fv
