John these are all gorgeous!!! That Blue Tide Seam Agate is to die for! Absolute stunning piece right there. Thanks Jason! It's funny. That ring was way more photogenic than the others...something to do with the color of the stone or something. Who knows!

Thanks Ali. The material is so cool. You never know what you will see inside, probably can be said of about any stone though... I have a little bit of this and tried working it once. To me it was a fine balancing act between the hard and soft materials and I got frustrated and stopped I really do love the look of it so maybe I'll try again That's the truth! There are really soft spots, typically on the edges but even this cab has a soft spot, almost dead center. There are really hard parts as well. I haven't worked any in almost a year, but I'm glad I was motivated again...well worth the effort I think

I love seeing bonsai stone. I have some half nodules to finish up one of these days. It's a lot of work grinding the backs.
I actually see the hummingbird. I don't usually see what everyone sees. I reckon I have made 20,000 glass hummingbirds. The image is etched into my brain. LOL!
I'll look forward to seeing them when you get them finished up!

That bird looks a bit skinny.... Great-looking cab. I’m not familiar with that material. It is a bit thin See Beth's post below, she found the old thread about it. It's fun stuff for sure.

For once, I plainly see 'it'. Beautiful cab! I often don't see things either, this is one I actually did too!

Robin thinks she NEEDS that stone! It's gorgeous. I have never heard of Bonsai stone before. Where is it from? I thought you might like that one! I think Beth found the old thread about it. It's from Wyoming, near Farson I think.

I made this guy yesterday from some of my friends bonsai stone. The agate fortifications sort of look like a hummingbird to me. I’m curious what Robin thinks! hummingbirdstones

Can I ask you about your photography? Are you using your phone or DSLR or other? I want to up my game on the photography front. In addition to your cabs being off the charts, your photography is as well Also, I put museum putty on a little slabette And stick the cab to it. If you move it back in forth you can get the Best clarity with the light And you are not stuck in one place I take up to 20-30 shots from different angles And pick the one i like best. Thanks Paul! I was really curious. It's amazing what you can do with your phone photography wise. Looks like I need to upgrade phones
