Same batch of rocks on the other side: Before (Sep 3 - after a week of step 1) After (Sep 17 - after 3 weeks of step 1) . Some rocks were replaced on Sep 3. I hoped the yellow areas on the mexican lace agate at the right bottom corner could have been tumbled away, but apparently it needs more time.

All the rocks above would stay in stage 1 for longer. Next comes the Bahia agates: Before (Sep 3 - out of the box) After (Sep 17 - after 2 weeks of step 1)

You could take a dremel to the one mexican lace if you have one.

The other sides of the Bahia agates: Before (Sep 3 - out of the box) After (Sep 17 - after 2 weeks of step 1) I would not expect any of these done with step 1 by the end of this month.

Next up are the sea jaspers: Before - out of the box on Sep 03 After (Sep 17 - after 2 weeks of step 1) Most of them still have defects on the surfaces but since some are going to run too small or thin, I move them out of stage 1.

PS, those are really looking great! I think you're being realistic about what should continue in stage one and which ones should be progressed. I used to be a VERY impatient person...then I started tumbling...and it didn't get ANY better! So, I took up cabbing! LOL - You're doing VERY well on the patience part of the hobby!

Desert jasper the other sides: Before (Sep 3 - out of the box) After (Sep 17 - after 2 weeks of step 1) Still more grinding to do except maybe one or two smallest pieces.

I am NOT the patient type at all, and with all the bags of stones I purchased after joining the forum, I am already keeping an eye on the Lortone QT66... Before joining this forum, I did not pay attention to cabs at all, but after checking out all the great work from people here, I started to understand the amount of work and thoughts and levels of artistic taste that were given to each piece. I am in awe

There were also some random rocks that I tossed into the barrel two weeks ago without taking a picture: Some small pieces look nice after being tumbled. The bigger pieces have large deep dents which might take too long to tumble out. We will see next week.

I ended up only taking a few small rocks out of the rerun batch, so I only added a bunch of my small (smallest as small as a peanut) beach finds plus some other random rocks: Hope these weathered rocks turn out well!

Then I realized my 60/90 grit is going to run out next week... Time for another order!

I admire you for your patience and work you're putting into this. Things are looking good, though. I;m really looking forward to the end result.

This is my first batch so I wanted to record as much detail as possible. I doubt if I would have the same level of energy to take before and after photos for my future batches, but I definitely will always keep notes of lessons learned.
