Everything's looking like it's coming along great! That Bahia in particular is looking like it's going to be a real beauty!!

Another week of stage 1: A small portion of rocks have passed my test, but the majority will stay in stage 1 as usual.

pebbleskyAre some going to stage 2 and others staying in stage one? What tumblers are you working with?

pebblesky Are some going to stage 2 and others staying in stage one? What tumblers are you working with? All the rocks shown above are not ready for stage 2 yet. I am using Lortone 3A for stage 1. I keep a bag of rocks ready for polish and so far most of them are small or flat pieces. I haven't accumulated enough to feed my Raytech TV5 vibe yet. I also tried running my TV5 for beach rocks directly but it seems at 120/220, even shallow dents/cracks will take very long to remove.

Step 1 check again. I have a small bag to put the rocks that graduate from step 1. It has been slowly accumulating rocks to less than 2 lbs since I started tumbling in August.

UntitledA close-up of some random rocks from step 1. Top row from left to right: some crushed-for-tumble rock sample from KinesavaROCKS, hand-cut piece of Mexican Crazy Lace from hummingbirdstones2 , and a broken piece from end-cut slab of Gary Green jasper from Caldera rock shop. Mid row (the black and grey one): my self-collect on my way from one Office building to another. Bottom row: an end-cut piece of Montana Moss agate from Tony.

Bahia agates and Mexican lace agates don't change too much from week to week, once they have become relatively smooth, so here is the two-week comparison: Bahia agate - left 10/23, right 11/06 Mexican lace agate - left 10/23 right 11/06 .

Must be nice to still be able to tumble... It's way too cold here. I look forward to seeing how the Brazilian agates turn out. They're a favorite of mine.

Some new rocks that I started tumbling a week ago: Front Back The close-ups of some old friends: Bahia agate 11/06 11/13 Crazy lace agate 11/06 11/13 This side of the crazy lace looks a bit scared. Does it want to ask me to stop or keep tumbling?

Hard to tell from that face...it's the same face you see on someone riding a rollercoaster. You can't tell if they're excited and want to keep going...or if they crapped their pants and want to get off the ride! LOL
