Question for anyone with this system: Is the can where the sludge collects designed to be thrown away when full, or can the sludge be cleaned out and the can reused?

I've got to remember where I asked a question. Thanks for the reply.

I don't but I have been up close and personal with the standalone one Matt sphereguy has, it works well for him. The 1/2 gallon paint can it uses is a little less common, but not super expensive or hard to find to have spares on hand.
I also have talked with someone who knows the original maker of the "Easy Clean" centrifugal cleaner that HP copied, and may meet up with him in the near future. He used standard 1 gallon paint cans on his, all of them were stand alone units with tanks, he never tried fitting them to saws like HP.
Centrifugal oil cleaner/water separators are as old as oil hydraulics, used one when the water cooling on a large injection press at work failed once

The guy who made the Easy Clean is in Nevada, Reno area. Centrifugal separators for industry are a lot older than that, I would imagine that there were overhead belt machines well over 100 years ago.

That Overhead belt machine would've been run on steam back then correct? Reason why I asked is because I tried looking up some machines that aren't HP. Would rather give my money to someone else, but all the machines I've seen that do it are 4K and up. HP's machine is a little over a grand
