Just wrestled this 100.7 lb chunk of breccieted Jasper into the vise. Another pick up from area 54.

Whoo-hoo! Now that's a beast! Careful not to get a hernia loading it.

Not too bad to pick up. I was more concerned about smashing. My fingers rolling it around in the vise trying to find a position that would work.

I'd say I just about reach my cutting depth limit here. I turn the rock upright so it wouldn't have to cut as far and would be quicker. It wasn't. The rock had to go all the way to the center of the blade. Anyway. I think this is probably a home built saw and the split nut can be a little bit awkward to get to, but man it sure cuts nice. Never a change in sound when it's cutting and the cuts are all just as smooth as can be.

rockbrain I have a piece of Gary Green (Freedom? Caldera?) Jasper in my 18 right now that I have to keep cutting and rotating to keep it at blade capacity. Nice when they can cut smooth at full capacity plus.
