Ive always seen rough picture jasper windowed as many ways as possible.i think the old timers did this to find the picture and that would tell me it could be random. I haven't come across any information saying it is directional either. Maybe I'll learn something today but if it were my nice hunk of earth ide take at least one off the short side.

That does sound like a good plan. I might have to wait for another saw. I'm throwing everything in my 24. With the width of the blade I wouldn't have much material left once I find the right direction.
If anyone has a better ID I'd appreciate that too!

Well chit! That would explain the lack of pictures. The only thing I was really going by for the ID was the colors. I've cut both ends off. I'm re-cutting one of them straight, then I'm going to slab the long way. I think I might get something for the comp anyway. A bit different than the norm, but so am I.
