Of course they're all beautiful - but I like the first sagenite ( mist over the marsh) & the first Exotica.
The exotica is one I hadn't heard of before - it looks like porcelain, or old cracked marble or something.
Looks like you might have broken up an old plate, or statue & cabbed it ( hey doesn't jamesp do things like that )
Obviously what ever trouble the stromatolite gave you , you whipped it this time, very nice polish.
Truth be told, I think it all could be used as an ad for the Rock Shed.
Maybe you should start asking Shawn for a commission

Thanks Patty! You know...I saw the same thing in that first cab...and almost entered it for the "landscape" themed contest! LOL The thing with that Exotica...it's finicky! There's areas that will take a polish and areas that won't get any better than matte (for me!). The red/purple areas are the same material that's in Crazy Lace that bleeds when you work it. The Stromatolite is another material where some of the mud was silicified more than other areas...so some areas take a great polish, while others kinda "pit" a bit! Hmmm....might have to approach Shawn about this next time I'm up there! LOL

They're all fantastic, truly...but your composition on those sagenite cabs really perked my interest, especially the third one with the pool of chalcedony in the center!! Great job, Jason!! And great craftsmanship, as always!

LOL They're all fantastic, truly...but your composition on those sagenite cabs really perked my interest, especially the third one with the pool of chalcedony in the center!! Great job, Jason!! And great craftsmanship, as always! Thanks Kevin! I was hoping the Chalcedony was going to be more clear than what it turned out to be...but it is what it is. The last Sagenite Agate I got from The Rock Shed was more purple than red/yellow...I was hoping for the some with this one...but alas...

Great looking cabs jasoninsd. You always match the cab shape with the rock pattern. Fantastic polish too.

These are truly marvelous! IMO, the misty feel of the chalcedony is a very nice feature on your master pieces.

Those are nice. I like the first one. It looks like the fog rolling in over the hills.

I'll be curious to see if there's anymore "worthwhile" areas in the rest of the rock. (Man...that makes me sound like a rock snob! LOL) Those are nice. I like the first one. It looks like the fog rolling in over the hills. Eccman Thanks Eccman! Dangit!! I KNEW I should have used that one for the contest this month! LOL

But you wouldn't have gotten the ones you pulled out of it, so I'd say its win-win

Maybe I can practice getting the best pattern into the best shape.

Those were fun to see what people would come up with out of the same slab of material!!

They are all awesome! The first three are amazing! Love the foggy look on the third one. Thanks Ashley! There's a lot more Sagenite in the rest of what's left of the rock...I'm hoping there's some more Chalcedony areas! I took several pics of that third one until I remembered it really was "foggy" and not just out of focus! LOL

I think they are all outstanding, but the 4th sci fi really takes it for me. Your composition just keeps getting better and betterer.

I cut a very dark but cool Montana agate, some Bruneau, I’m working on a rock that was sold as Brazilian but it looks like something else.

LOL I really like those last two Exoticas. I was hoping that design wasn't going to grind away during doming! Are you gonna post some pics of the slabs? Remember the old "Cab that Slab" threads? Now you've got me curious about the "not" Brazilian! I think I remember you posting a pic of the group of supposed Brazilians.
