I don't know for sure how to best slab the stone you have, I'm too new to give that advice. That piece looks very nice! The cut that has been made looks like a good place to slab.

The cut already there looks to me like its parallel with the banding. If you can figure it out and hold it, try to cut across as many bands as you can on an angle, making it look like a fanned out deck of cards. Maximum exposure of as many bands as you can get in one cut. Looks like it may work on only part of the rock; that's a nice one.

I would cut across the banding to leave cross sections of the banding intact.

I don’t have any experience cutting rocks, but (just for entertainment) I would be most interested in what this cut reveals. Keep us updated on your slabs!
