Here's a chip that was in the bottom of a bucket. Had been knocked off of a random piece of rough. Wanted to see what was in it.
The first shots show how damaged it was. Still yielded a fairly interesting little stone (22x18) but could've been much better.

Nah, don't know what the yellow is Ed. Sorry. I can recognize a few kinds of rocks, but I'm no good at the recipes.

jasoninsd - TWO salvage jobs. It broke in the middle just as I was getting the surfaces smoothed out after grinding the edges.

I now have a new laptop...so I can stop looking at the threads on my phone as much! Pics are better on the laptop! LOL You're going to make me want to work some Crazy Lace if you keep posting pics of these beauties you're coming up with out of your batch of rough!

jasoninsd the close-up picture of that little cab is off in color. The outdoor pictures are the true colors. It's a sweet cab. This old stock stuff is really different from the crazy lace I've cut before. There's a slab waiting for me by my Genie that I'm going to cut pretty soon.

Amazing how the unnatural light gives a "yellow" hue to the material - or so it seems on my screen.

I must be losing it .... I'll fix it to tag you.

Yeah rockjunquie , I always have liked to see what's in little chips and scraps. Just to test myself. Maybe it's an opal cutter thing... .
jasoninsd - the cab close-up was outdoors. It was just shot with the auto settings. So close that the evening sunlight reflecting from my hand and the cab caused the camera to black out the grass in the background. I hate auto settings, but it was getting close to sundown and I was in a hurry.
Colors in the shot with both pieces are more natural. Some nice pastel pinks in there.
