10 days tin ox 1, another 10 days tin ox 2, no burnish, mediocre cellphone camera. One rock broke in a bad way, and messed up quite a bit so the main pile is more like a 12lb batch. The dalmatian jasper and quartzite got the edges banged up a little, have to be taken back to 1,000 grit and so aren't in these photos. Don't you just love it when you have inspected each rock to make sure they are all sound, and this happens in what for me was a 20 day polish run after all the preceding prep! That one broken rock might have also decreased the quality of the shine on some things in these photos also, but I'm going ahead anyway. That 4lb+ rock might have had some effects also. I found all these in the field unless noted otherwise.

I think these are both rhyolites, some wonderstone (feels nice but little shine) and some kind of picture jasper I think. Both purchased.

Some Mookaite chert; purchased. Vanport chert; purchased. Chalcedony from Cerro Pedernales, NM. Misc. agates, mostly Bahia (purchased). Misc. jaspers and chalcedonies and whatever. Chert. 3 on left are not super silicified so not real shiny. The rest is what I call misc. stream chert from near KS/OK/MO/AR junction.

They are all amazing! Love the metallic looking ones. Alibates chert are also very interesting. For that 4.5lbs beast I really won't notice any defect even if you circle it out...

That one looks like palmwood to me from my very limited purchase experience.

Bob beautiful rocks, one and all! Love that alibates chert! And those two pieces of banded chert in the upper right- I think you got those from my gravel road.

Bob, I would definitely say this is palm wood. The Aleman Ranch near Engle, NM had palm wood.

Bob, I would definitely say this is palm wood. The Aleman Ranch near Engle, NM had palm wood. Thanks for the confident ID. I think I have some other pieces scattered here and there processing, including one very light colored piece.

Very nice. I especially like the hematite, or metallic ones. They're all beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing.
