Just finished my first batch of Leopard Skin Rhyolite in the 80 grit tumbler! Can't wait for these to be finished! Got a batch of Velvet Obsidian ahead of them in the prepolished stage, and then will be running these through! Leopard Skin is looking much better out of the 80 grit than I expected! This is after 7 days of 80 grit shaping.

We are new to tumbling, but so far did one batch (came out with less than a shine we know it can take) and have another 2 batches in the prepolished stage with some minor adjustments made to hopefully get a better shine. We have multiple rotarys going as well, with other material we sell to try ourselves. We've never tumbled before but have always wanted to. Been a blast so far!

We do have random pull rough available on our website if you'd like some. Also occasionally do boxes of rough that you could break yourself (these break clean and fracture free), and tumble that is cheaper per lbs compared to our random pull. It'll be another month or two before we do another box though, as we are running low on stock right now. Some of these will also be available on our website once we are done with them. Here is a link to the random pull if you'd like to take a look. It is great material! Also cuts and cabs fantastically! lapidarycentral.com/products/one-pound-random-pull-mexican-leopard-skin-rhyolite-rough?_pos=4&_sid=26a8b2a05&_ss=rIf you think you want more than 4 lbs, message me on here and we will give you a decent discount to get a batch started tumbling yourself!

Do you think these are a size that could be carefully slabbed in a trim saw? About how many would make up a pound?

kharaWe have a mix of sizes present and we can pull for what works best for you if you let us know your trimsaw size or an estimate on what size you are looking for, so the amount in a lbs can be built to your needs. We even have some larger than a lbs, so if you have a larger saw we can get you set up! It cuts fantastically, and can also work into some really attractive and unique cabochons. It sounds like it would work perfectly for what you are looking for.

lapidarycentral Wow Brian This might be the finest batch of stones I have ever ordered. There is not one rock in the bunch that is not AAA grade. The mix of colors is exactly like the intro photo at start of this thread. The sizes are just big enough to be sawn for cab slabs too and I plan having some cabbed for sure(actually an order from the wife ). Got to thank you for the shear quality. Better to have 2 pounds of AAA grade than 10 pounds of A grade. Lots of silica and should tumble well and no visible fractures either. More pumped about tumbling this material than any other rock I ever tumbled. Thanks Jim closer in really closes the deal: This one tore up some photo bytes !

Thank you sir, we appreciate it and we appreciate the photo post. Its always awesome to see a happy customer!
Our prices might be higher than most, but we strive to have our boxes and our per lbs rough to be filled with nothing but the best quality of material. I know we personally get pretty tired of ordering boxes of rough online, only to have 1 good cutter and 7 flower bed rocks. We know our customers feel the same, so we try our best to make each one a beauty!
