Actually I put some new wheels on my cabber. It came with a brand new 80 textured/crosshatch hardwheel that I put on the soft supernova 220 that I got from Johnson Brothers the other day. 220 is going to be good but I think I need a little more break in. I absolutely love the 80 textured wheel. Then after I got finished with that I got busy cutting preforms. Now it's time to get doping!

You have a lot of work to do! I hope you'll be dopping and not doping while you're working on those stones!

Yeah, rockbrain, you've got the "touch" alright. The shine you put on those cabs proves it.

jasoninsd thanks, I just got a couple slabs of Noreena. I had never worked with it until last week (The joys of being new at this, there is so much I haven't worked with!) I'm really liking the way it works. It is just absolutely solid when you're grinding. No chips. Non of these cabs have seen a buffer yet. They are all off the 3000 wheel. That is about my fifth or sixth time trying a turitella cab and it's the first one that came out. All the others broke beyond saving. This one has a nice sized chip on the bottom edge but it'll cover with a wrap. Thanks, realrockhound the only issue is I precut and dopped 39 pieces and didn't get out anything for the competition. I need to get looking. I've got some material for this one and don't want to miss out on the fun of loosing again! Thanks, hummingbirdstones2 I've actually been a little underwhelmed with some of my shine, although it's getting better. I do have a stand alone buffer I need to get a new cover for. I received my Mini Sonic yesterday and after a half day in polish I was seeing a nice difference in the shine on my cabs. I think I'm going to love this machine!

jasoninsd I think you cursed me. I did a second Noreena cab, exactly the same way I did the first. It won't shine! I think it might be from a different slab.

I've asked on the forum several times about polishing Noreena. The information that I understand is Noreena is one of those materials where it really is hit or miss depending on the piece of rough. I had a decent sized chunk, and it's the type that won't freakin' polish! I guess it has to do with the silica content in one piece or another. I'm always in awe when I see a piece that polishes so well. I don't really know why I like this material as much as I do. It really does have odd color combinations...but I still like it! LOL
