Nice shine going on all those rockbrain! The Turitella and Rhodonite are especially fine.

rockbrain what do you like about the crosshatch hard wheel? I heard someone else also say they were really nice. What do you think is so nice about it?

It just grinds material away quickly. It seems like I have a little less chipping too. I will also say again, I have very little experience with this. I've not been cabbing for very long and the only machines I have ever done stuff on our my own. This is the 3rd new hard wheel I've had. The first was a really cheapo 1" wide off Amazon. The second is an 8"x3" that I ordered from Hans. This was a huge step up but the wheel has a little wobble and I think that might have contributed to breaking cabs as I had it happen a few times during the rough grind. This is just the smoothest and best cutting wheel I've used. I think the texture helps carry away debris better. I don't even know what brand wheel this is. It is all steel.

pebblesky thanks! hummingbirdstones thanks, I ended up having a corner come off the rhodonite but I was able to save it. I'm just glad I was finally able to finish a turitella one without it coming apart!
