Trying not to post every single cab I make, but I'm having fun! The first is Larimar, I really like the blue. I wish I could say it's a fun stone to work but it has it's own challenges. The second two I don't have an ID for. Thanks for looking!

Way to go my friend! It's pretty amazing the time differential in making cabs between the Dremel and the cabbing machine, isn't it!?! You're really going to be pumping them out now!

Beautiful miket, and please post them all, it only encourages the rest of us
The Larimar is sweet. Having never cut any (yet) please tell the difficulties you found.
I need to learn what not to do, before I waste any of that nice expensive stone !

Great job on those cabs, miket! Kudos on working the Larimar. It's a tough stone to cab. A lot of times it falls apart. I want to say the second cab looks like some kind of poppy jasper, but I don't know.

Way different, night and day really. It took way longer to dremel and polish in the vibe. I still need to conquer the polishing, but I'll get there! 🙂 Beautiful miket , and please post them all, it only encourages the rest of us

Thank you, Patty! I've had a slab of that Larimar for over a year and after being warned about how soft it is I didn't want to use the dremel on it. The cab I ended up with is a different shape and somewhat smaller than my original design- part of one end crumbled like chalk. You should try it, though, the blue is even nicer in person... Great job on those cabs, miket ! Kudos on working the Larimar. It's a tough stone to cab. A lot of times it falls apart. I want to say the second cab looks like some kind of poppy jasper, but I don't know. Thanks! I have one more piece left, hopefully I can get a decent cab out of it. And thank you for the try on the ID! Look at you go!!! Awesome! I dig the larimar and commend you for finishing a cab of it. Thanks Tela! Most of what I'm doing now I'm planning on wrapping, I think that one will look good. Some people like smaller jewelry. Those are awesome! I second everyone else, post them all! Thank you, Ashley!

liveoak Patty, I cabbed it's little brother last night and ran into some of the crumbling issues that I was speaking of. Admittedly it wasn't a huge piece, but here's what I ended up with. Hard to hold on to with no dop! 😁

I think I'd be afraid to grind a small soft potentially crumbly stone without a dop miket, you have more guts than me. I've had one or two slip out of my hand and break on the floor of the cabber. Pretty little & what a nice color. Thanks for the update, Patty
