IMG20221013190936 by nik1924, on Flickr Hello again everybody. I figured that I would make the most of my ridiculously rainy week off by finishing a project three years in the making. The final nine tap handles for the local brewery. Today saw setting up the old 10 inch saw to block out the rhodonite and taking all of them from the 30 grit sintered wheel through the first stage of sanding. As an aside, I tried out a 120 grit diamond belt on the expanding drum, and I don't know how I lived this long without. It made short work of removing all of the deep scratches and high spots on these big pieces. I suspect that the progression toward polish will be much faster.

Expandos are great. The soft surface allows more co tact with stone. Lookimg great. Now for that beer.

Work on the grinder is done, although there are still a couple little scratches that I may rework if the mood strikes. The birdseye rhyolite really surprised me with the quality of polish it took, the noreena and random river rock wound up with a satin finish IMG20221014172440 by nik1924, on Flickr
