That's amazing material that deserves a nicely done copper setting (IMHO). Sweet.

Amazing contrast!!!! It really makes the gorgeous plumes pop! Thanks! Wasn’t sure what to think about the black background, but it works. That's what really makes it- and it's unusual. You just don't see it that much.

Thanks. I never think to incorporate cooper into a setting, I never think I should use gold either lol! Since I primarily work in copper, I'm always looking for stones that compliment the color.
Most people don't look to solder copper setting as I do, as silver is traditional.
So, OK if you must- set it in silver It's a beauty that should be seen.

Yeah...this one is definitely jaw-droppingly amazing! Gorgeous capture of the plume...and one heckuva rock! Thanks! It wasn’t easy making a final decision on the shape, deciding to cab the slab took months lol! For the most part, I'm not a "specimen" kinda guy when it comes to slabs...but I can understand the "delay" in piecing this one out! LOL

Beautiful! Is that black natural or does it come from some back doublet?

Tommy I’d love to see that museum pic, when you find a minute please share it. I did find it - and you know how a memory of something adds a bit of grandeur to it... It's a beautiful slab, about 8 inches in diameter but I don't think it has anything on your gorgeous cabochon Click for the full size photo:
