That's a beauty. Boy did you ever score on that deal.
Old collections are about the only place to find that stuff now. Some people here on the RTH have small amounts. Not many cabs get posted.

Nice cab! I just sorted out about 1000 lbs of St Johns flower agate out of a bunch of pet wood bins today. I havent seen any for 10 years, so I was surprised to find it.

You deserve it, Tony. We still remember the thread you posted about your first really big buy, and you've been doing it ever since then.
The cab that started this thread sure is a classic "flower" pattern. Hope you post some photos of your rough.

First cab I’ve cut of this stuff since acquiring it at Tucson 22nd street show 2020. There was an Arizona rainbow wood dealer who was selling giant log size rounds with polished faces showing the concentric rings, but also had a couple big bins of broken up pieces at $2 a pound. Upon closer inspection one of the bins was actually St. John’s flower agate that had come along with a big pet wood collection he had purchased to resell. 32mm x 20mm. I think you should name this “Guy Walking at Sunset”. Very nice material. 🪨👍

I think you should name this “Guy Walking at Sunset”. Very nice material. 🪨👍 Funny, kinda looks like Bigfoot lol! I almost said “Sasquatch Walking at Sunset”! But didn’t want to create a forever visual every time you looked at that cab! :-)

Wow, very nice, and no fractures either. That agate is often full of fractures.

The more I look at this cab, I think I might have a bunch of this material. Now I’m all pumped up to go look back through buckets and hopefully cab some. Cab looks amazing

Just did a search for this material. After seeing the results, must say that anyone who has this rough has something good.
One seller on eBay had a number of slabs (around 3" x 5" and 4" x 6") that had typical fracturing. All listed at $9.95 + shipping.
Didn't find any rough for sale. RTH threads over ten years old talk about how the collecting area had already been gated back then.
