Does anyone know a source for Frantom parts? I rescued a 24" Frantom from being scrap metal, but it is missing the sliding part of the vise and the lock. I tried Highland Park but they dont have this piece and don't have any to copy to cast more of them.
Base is 8.5in wide and .5in thick.
Push comes to shove I'll have to make a new vise assembly or try and weld up the pieces I'm searching for.

Our shop has one of these saws and I could take some photos for you. We just cleaned it out so they will clear. there is a video on youtube about taking this saw apart that may help you also. I am out of town till next week but will get back to you.
I think the last of these saws was made in the 1960s so very few parts.

If push comes to shove, check with Cigar Box Rock to see if they can source or make you one.

According to them, they do not i just looked at there web site and they show all kinds of parts in stock None for the 24", unless it was used in the 18". Only 24" specific part if you can even call it that, is the wood insert for the vise. I chatted with their online rep and she told me they had nothing I could use. I even offered to buy a new vise for their HP 24" to see if I could modify it to work and she told me it wouldnt work and I should just buy a new saw.

For a 24" saw 3/8 plate might be better, but with good welds and gussets 1/4 should hold up fine. I will message sphereguy Matt, the FranTom historian to see if he has any leads. What I know for sure is there were 2 sizes of vices in their 24 inch saws, one would open to almost 12 inches and a smaller one that was about 10", the moving part may or may not be interchangable and later ones had the feed dog/clamp offset to the blade side on the bigger vices.
