Holy miniature disco ball Batman!! That material is amazingly beautiful!! What a fantastic find!! Thanks! As you could imagine I was quite thrilled to make such a find. Literally stumbled across the stuff while fishing, it was the catch of the day lol! I wasn't sure if it was the "real" kind of find like that...or if it was a find on eBay or something! LOL - Glad to hear it was actually self-collected!! Too bad you didn't catch your limit on these that day!! LOL

Amazing! I had some but it wasn't half as nice as that. That's special.

Too bad you didn't catch your limit on these that day!! LOL Hopefully I can “fill the freezer” before anyone checks my bag limit lol! Just take the freezer with you when you go fishing and there shouldn't be any issues...

Amazing! I had some but it wasn't half as nice as that. That's special. Thanks. I’ve only seen green aventurine for sale, and I haven’t ever looked closely at any of it. There’s a bit of black stuff out of India marketed as galaxy quartz that looks similar to a type I’ve found and cut, looks like a night sky no question. I bought a couple cabs of it. If I am not mistaken it was from PA. I think there is also a blue aventurine.

It sort of reminds me of rainbow lattice Sunstone. Same thing going on with your aventurine? The site that photo came from says it a type of orthoclase feldspar that exhibits a rare combination of aventurescence, adularescence, and a distinctive iridescence latticesparkles! So similar to what goes on with aventurine. Definitely sparkley!

I had no idea Adventurine had a clear version.
Very nice.
I'm thinking a circular cab & a space related setting, could be cool.
It would make a great planet or meteorite, or even a shooting star.
Look forward to see what you make with it.

Bravura Cabochon Designs I looked up the cabs I mentioned and they were actually white lepidolite- NOT aventurine. I gotta say the aventurine is much more beautiful.

Ah, I think I’ve seen the stuff you’re thinking of. It’s also got a bunch of mica if I remember correctly. Not really sure, but it certainly looks like it.

I’ve never seen anything like it. If it wasn’t submerged in the water looking like a glowing clear hydrogrossular garnet, I would never have picked it up. Since then I’ve found three other varieties, one that cuts amazing starry night looking cabs and a couple others yet to cut. One of the uncut rocks has mica, some unidentified green mineral, and a bunch of tiny garnets all floating in quartz matrix. Very cool that you found it, in the water no less.
The other varieties some interesting - you should cut some & show pictures

liveoak here’s the cab from the other type. It’s got some other inclusions that give the quartz a grey base color, and the mica inclusions aren’t as big as the clear stuff. That's nice stuff- did you self collect as well ?
I see potential planets & moons & stars Oh MY ! Thanks for showing me,
Patty
