Here is another crazy old stock Mexican Birdseye Rhyolite! These sure come out beautiful! Love each and every one of these we have cut or tumbled. This is after 2 weeks of 80 grit in a rotary tumbler. What is your favorite rhyolite?

They are unique! It seems orbicular patterns are one of the favorite among rock lovers, and rocks with orbs could be very expensive...

I wonder how close this material is mined to Leopard Skin Rhyolite...there's very similar structure to the orbs in this material when compared with the Leopard Skin. The LS has smaller orbs, but the overall look to the orbs is eerily similar...

I wonder how close this material is mined to Leopard Skin Rhyolite...there's very similar structure to the orbs in this material when compared with the Leopard Skin. The LS has smaller orbs, but the overall look to the orbs is eerily similar... Honestly, I'm not sure. I've always assumed they were close together as well. I do know like Leopard Skin Rhyolite, there are multiple deposits with the majority of them being much softer and less pure than this old stock in the photo. I've been trying to find a stable source of original old stock, and while I do have one source with it; they don't have a whole lot. Would be interesting to know though. I'll look into it a little.
