I found some nodules in a bucket that all had a bit chipped off of one end. I could see fortification lines in all of them so I took the saw to them! I don't know where these are from. Don't look to me like Brazilians but I'm no expert. They are all shown unpolished, fresh off the saw. I ended up cutting into slabs the halves that were windowed and am leaving the other halves for now. Leaning toward flat lapping the halves to keep as specimens rather than slicing them up too. All are about 4 inches wide. IMG_9805 by Shiny Objects, on Flickr I thought this next one was interesting with the waterline fortification on the bottom edge IMG_9807 by Shiny Objects, on Flickr IMG_9809 by Shiny Objects, on Flickr My favorite of the group! The lighter areas around the perimeter kind of look like sunlight reflections in the picture, but that is what the nodule looks like IMG_9812 by Shiny Objects, on Flickr

Don't take this for gospel...but to me, they look like REALLY sweet Montana Agates!

Possibly India Agate. Back in the 1970s a good bit of bulk India Agate alluvial nodules were imported. They were similar to Brazilian Agate nodules but tended to have a lighter colored and more opaque exterior rind than did Brazilian agate nodules. Here is a photo of some examples.

Thanks. There is also an India Blackskin or Black Skin Agate with similar interiors but I don't have any of that rough to show.

India Agate looks like a possibility. Here is a pic of the outsides of my nodules. The lower right one has been cleaned off in soapy water to get rid of the oil. So the others are a bit darker and yellower than they actually are because of the oil residue. IMG_9830 by Shiny Objects, on Flickr

Here's an India Blackskin agate cab. Pretty sure that's what you have. Some of it is almost identical to Montana agate, so I think both ID's were right on the money.
