Hi all. Acouple of new cabs off the grinder. This is from some agate/jasper I picked up from ebay. It's from the inyo/mohave area of Calif These are going to be a necklace/earring set. I picked up this rock locally from Morgan Hill Calif. It is a form of poppy jasper. Same stone I've made jewelry from before, each slab seems to have a different look to it. Thanks for lookin' Ed

Wowser Stoner! Nice cabs. The second bunch as especially nice. We call that poppy material plasma with agatized magnesite. Seems to me some buddies used to find it around Anderson reservoir up near you. and sometimes near Clear creek in San Benito, Co. Darn pretty and very unusual stuff anyway....mel

Hey Mel. You hit the location perfect. I collected that chunk at Anderson Reservior. It was along the road just in back of where I parked my truck and just the very top of the rock was sticking out of the ground. Took a screwdriver and dug all around it and it turned out to be about a 7lb chunk.

Nice Job Stoner. I loved hearing how you found the last material. It just goes to show you, that fantastic material can be found in the most unlikely spots. Didn't need to pack that hunk too far. Good for you. Steve

Neat! I love that color as I haven't seen it before in the jasper. Can't wait to see them finished! Everyone is so talented! I do mosaics and would like to do the same with rocks, let alone making wire wraps. Never enough time! Just breakin' up china here listening to my two Lortone tumblers tumblin' away! LOL!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I really like the material in the 2nd pic, shines up really nice. Stephan- CRS at 40? Man, what are you gonna do when you get old? hehe I have been using diamond paste mixed with a little mineral oil on a leather belt. I use 14000 on the left side of the belt and 50000 on the right side and keep the middle just dry leather. I go up to either 1200 or 3000 on the diamond belts on the expanding wheels first, then the diamond paste. Works real well for me.
