I remember when you could buy a new Lortone 33b for like $60. I have been looking and see they are over $170 on average. WTH?

Yeah it looks like I picked a bad time to start this hobby..... ...low supply on equipment and high prices. I just bought a cabbing machine that cost 35% more than when I first started researching them a few years back. I found some old notes and I ended up buying the one I had chosen back then but just never pulled the trigger on. Sucks but I guess this was just the right time for me.

wolverine That's a nice setup, I think you'll like the versatility each size offers. I have a 12 and a couple 3lb, but no 6lb. Nice petosky stones btw, I just saw your thread

@hefty I know, my vibe box fills up so slow some weeks. I'm lucky to get a batch out every 3-4 weeks! I think I'm going to pick up another 3lb barrel so I can have a another small barely to do finishing runs in coarse. I hope you show off your first batch, whenever that is

The larger the tumbler the quicker it goes. The smaller your barrel and the smaller your rocks should be going in. Don't put a big ol clunker in your 3lb cause it's not going to do well

Wait till you see how long it takes to tumble Lol, yea I picked up a harbor freight double barrel to get started and was like ooo I want to get a vibratory too. Started to get upset that it was taking 6 months for the vibratory to arrive. I've had it for a couple months now and not even turned it on yet cuz I still don't have enough stage 1 ready after all this time. Hopefully it's not a harbor freight vibratory because none of those are meant for rocks. For brass casings only. Rocks will tear it up in no time.

Tell me about it. Inflation, supply issues, and shipping increases are forcing me to shut down my (small) side business.
I hate what Covid did to the economy.

It is a bummer for sure on the prices of some. We have been trying to budget for some larger vibratory tumblers, but phew, they sure are spendy!

Yeah, along with everything else in life, the prices keep going up. I think my first, 3 lb Lortone cost me around $50, back in the 1980s sometime. Fifty bucks was a lot of money to me back then. For what it’s worth, I see that Cigarbox has a few QT66s on eBay as I post this, over $300 shipped. I may just add a 2nd one to my space, who knows with this crazy supply chain situation, when things will ever stabilize again. I really like my QT66! I think things on the supply chain train will take a long time before some sort of normalcy returns again.
