Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I'll be headed out to my brother in law's place. Having the big stuffed bird and the rest of the trimmings.
So, what are y'all thankful for? I'm thankful for my husband and kids and grandkids. I'm thankful that I was born in this great country and I'm thankful for all my blessings.
I'm thankful my husband wasn't electrocuted when he was working on a janky circuit. Looks like we need an electrician. Thankful that DH gave in and admitted it. LOL!

Happy Thanksgiving to y'all!
I'm grateful I still have all my fingers and toes this year.
I'm grateful my wife still maintains patience with rocks everywhere in the house...and garage...and yard.
I'm grateful for RTH.
I'm grateful my lazy dog still gets up a couple times of day to go outside and poop rather than just where he lays.
I'm grateful there's only one more episode of 90 Day Fiancé left...for now...
I'm grateful for my friends and "most" of my family.
I'm grateful for laughter...except when I'm drinking coffee and spit it all over my computer.
I'm grateful for elastic waistbands today.
I'm grateful my thoughts don't appear as bubbles over my head.
I'm grateful for what I have...and even more grateful I haven't gotten what I deserve!!

Happy Thanksgiving. Happy that it was warm enough for me to cut some rocks on my trim saw in the back yard this morning. We're not able to have our Thanksgiving get together until tomorrow as a couple attendees have to work today. Sunday we travel to Savannah GA for a few days then it's two weeks at Edisto Beach SC. Giving thanks for that too.

I'm grateful that we've almost made it through this year and that we're seemingly coasting through the back side of chemo. Having a traditional meal (for us) done slightly different. My daughter SIL and grandkids will be over. I just put the sweet potatoes in the sous vide water immersion cooker. These will go for 2 hours at 145 deg. They'll still be the same hardness as when they went in but it will convert the starches to sugars and greatly enhance the flavor. Since all the butter and seasonings are sealed in the bag everything is intensified. These will go back on hold after the 2 hours. Spatchcocked turkeys (yes it's still legal in California) will go in the smoker and oven at 1. The Spatchcocked birds will only take about 2 hours. Taters and sweet taters back in the sous vide at 194 deg for an hour-1 1/2 and stuffing/dressing and green bean casserole in the oven at 3. Home made Parkerhouse rolls are already done and my wife is about to start rolling out some pie crusts. Yum!

It seems I've done it before without knowing it's a thing, lol.

Had to look up spatchcocked. It seems I've done it before without knowing it's a thing, lol. Once we found the technique some years ago, it's now the only way we do whole birds...both chicken and turkey. It really cuts down on cooking time whether on the grill or smoker.

I've decided to be thankful that we're having car issues so we had to stay home. It gave me a relatively stress free day & an afternoon off - with only worrying about scratches on my cabs, and a lot less cooking than usual ! Be thankful for the little things in life !
Happy Thanksgiving everyone Patty , also thankful for finding RTH and feeling welcome (most of the time ).

I had to move my wife to an assisted living a couple weeks ago, her deteriorating condition {Multiple System Atrophy} has made it impossible for me to care for her at home, and dependable home help near impossible to find here. Went there today for a good Thanksgiving dinner together and time well spent. I'm thankful she is still alive. Hope everyone had a special day.
