Dear family and friends, Bill and Annette Barton 12/02/2022 After several years of declining health and unexplained weight loss, I recently bit the bullet and went to the hospital. Three days later, the diagnosis of advanced multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer) came as a shock to Annette and I and also left us with bills approaching $30,000.00. We are working with regular medical and alternative practitioners to try and slow down the cancer and with any luck, get it into remission .We are opening the door to contributions to pay the emergency room and hospital bills associated with the diagnosis. My sister Rachel, has set up an online link for card donations that go directly to our dedicated credit union account. Also, if you don't wish to pay on line, you can send checks made out to me, Bill Barton, to Rachel's PO Box. (see below) She will add the account number and deliver them to the credit union. For anyone that comes across this thread. I got the opportunity to meet Stonemon at the rockhound powwow a few months back over the summer. There are those people you meet in life that you just hit it off with right off the bat. I could've seriously sat there all day and chatted rocks and b.s about all kinds of various things. Eventually I had to force myself to shut up so him and his wife could make their way into the show and look at all the cool rocks. Anyways... Bill is a standup guy and someone I hope to get to hound with in the future.
Keep fighting brother. You and your wife will be in my prayers.

Thank you all for your thoughts, generosity and prayers! Annette says I am one of the most stubborn people she ever met. Did I say the most stubborn? Not going to go quietly.
I have been bedridden for 4 months and change and I am ready for a few days in the shop!
This forum has been a godsend. even when I cannot walk to the shop and my hands shake too much to hold a dop stick or use the keyboard, I have a perfect escape into the forum! Not much to add to the conversation but a whole bunch to keep up on!

I was contacted by a member via PM. They sent me $75 to add to the total from these auctions...so I will be sending those funds along with the totals from the auctions when they're over. *I did advise the member they could send directly to Bill...but they opted to PayPal me the funds...and I'll make sure they get to Bill. |
