I've mentioned in some other posts that I'm doing a show this weekend. It's my first real show. I did the Tractor Supply Farmers' Market but I'm not going to count that as a real one. This one is only from noon till 5. It's outdoors and it's in the low 30's in the morning so it'll be good to let it warm up a bit. I don't have a tremendous inventory but I have over 50 wraps done plus a bunch of fridge mags. I'll be sharing a booth with my wife who will have mostly stained glass hearts and painted Christmas ornaments. I was happy to get in as they are pretty selective. They don't want to have a 'craft show'. The best part is its at a distillery. It's a local sweet potato farmer who started making sweet potato vodka. He's now branched out and makes some real nice, high end spirits. I have a bottle of Rye in my cabinet. They also have the right attitude because in the description of the show they mention cocktails multiple times. It was supposed to be on Saturday but with rain forecast all day they've moved it to Sunday. The tough part is my brother and law has the booth next to us. Bill hand paints fishing lures and builds poles. He's only been doing it a short time but his stuff is very nice. Wednesday at work he collapsed. He was taken by hospital by ambulance. He had a tumor in his throat rupture and lost a lot of blood. He was given transfusions and put on a ventilator. Today he was taken off life support. They lightened his sedation last night and he is doing some limited communication and at least aware and understanding of what people are saying to him. My wife got to talk to him on the phone tonight, and my daughter said that he recognized the voice and he did respond to her with I love you. He's probably got a couple of days at the most. We are going to set up his booth and sell his stuff for him. I think we'll have to make some kind of sign because we won't be able to talk to people about it. I'm having to stop and wipe my eyes and nose while I'm trying to type this. Not sure what we'll do with the money yet but it'll obviously be something for him. We're going to take care of his final wishes so it might be a donation to cancer prevention in his name.

jasoninsd I can understand your confusion brother. There's a full explanation now. I can only seem to get pictures and text arranged properly if I load the pics on my phone and then switch to the desktop for the text and things in proper order. Took me a bit longer to do my typing this time. And yes they are lures. Crankbait. You know there are some other things in creeks and rivers besides rocks.

I am so sorry to hear that about your brother-in-law. My thoughts and prayers are with your brother-in-law, your wife, you...and the whole family. I hope you're able to sell a bunch of your wraps, as well as your wife's art work at the show. However, I'm hoping y'all are able to sell completely out of your brother-in-law's lures and everything else he has in the show!

Thanks stewdogg. It does suck. Cancer sucks. Billy's lures are beautiful. They look even better in person. I knew about my wifes talent. His surprised me. Like me and 2 of his brothers and both of my brothers he was involved in the air conditioning business and was an extremely talented sheet metal and stainless steel fabricator. At some point I'll post a pic of the copper birdhouse he made.

If you don't sell all of his lures, I would be interested in purchasing one/some. I love fishing and could use those lures for sure.

Thanks, jasoninsd I appreciate it. We're going to go out and have a good sales on Sunday provided it doesn't rain. I think we'll go out even if it does rain, they did say cocktails...

Good luck with your show- between all your beautiful offerings, I'm sure you'll do well. The lures are gorgeous!
I'm so sorry to hear of your bad news. I'll keep your brother in law in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad he was able to talk to your wife. Sad time of the year for this business- well anytime of year, really.
Wishing you all the best.

rockbrain I enjoyed seeing your setup at the tractor show and I’m sure this one will be even better. I hope to see some pics at some point. I’m so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. His lures are really nice. Sounds tough for you and your wife to man his booth but I imagine you’ll be glad you did. A sign sounds like a good idea so you don’t have to keep explaining to everyone. I hope you and your wife have a good show and wishing your brother-in-law and you and your family comfort and connection during this time.

rockbrain I'm so sorry for this sad news. My thoughts and prayers are going up for you and your family. i know you'll have a good show with your wraps and your wife's beautiful work. Your BIL's lures are gorgeous. I have no doubt that those lures will be gone by the end of the show.

So sorry to hear about your brother-in-law, rockbrain. His lures are beautiful! I'd love to see more of them if you happen to get any more pictures. Your wife's ornaments are lovely as well! She has quite the steady hand!

Hey, rockbrain. Really sorry to hear that news.
If that sunfish(?) lure with the yellow belly is still available, I'd like to have it. It will never hit the water. It's too beautiful.
My thoughts are also with you, your brother-in-law, and your wife.

Thanks rockbrain! I forgot to mention that I would definitely be interested in buying one or two of those lures as well. If any are left after the show, please let me know.
