If you hadn't said it was troublesome, I'd never have known.
Interesting shapes, beautiful polish- what's not to like .
You're inspiring me to get out a chuck I have - must be time to try it !
Thanks for the show-
Patty

Those are gorgeous, Jason! Well worth whatever effort you had to go through, assuming you still have all of your fingers! Malachite has always been one of my favorite rocks and I’m glad to see you work it (quite literally thanks to the shine on that last one).

Well they look great for all the trouble they gave you. Looking forward to seeing some wraps! Thank you very much! These will have to be in silver. I like it when a stone gives me the option for patina'd copper or silver...but I just see these being in silver. Maybe I'll try a copper one just to see if I was wrong. LOL right on jase handsome stones tricky element to cab, indeed can't say I ever had good success try some apache gold for another tricky challenge Thanks Ed! Oh...Apache Gold! I have a small slab of that from Robin and Vince I haven't worked yet. I know that stuff is WAY messier to work than Malachite! LOL They look great! You did wear a mask, right? Thanks Tela! I knew someone was going to ask that! LOL - I rarely "clean" my machine...but I did clean it up pretty well after working these as I didn't want any dried on crust creating residual dust later on... If you hadn't said it was troublesome, I'd never have known.

Thanks Patty! I ordered three pounds of rough...and my dumba$$ forgot to put a note in that I wanted a larger piece of rough. So...what they sent was three pounds of tumble sized rough. After cutting them up, I was glad I got a few cabs out of my mistake! (I still have a lot more itty-bitty slabettes!) Those are gorgeous, Jason! Well worth whatever effort you had to go through, assuming you still have all of your fingers! Malachite has always been one of my favorite rocks and I’m glad to see you work it (quite literally thanks to the shine on that last one). Thanks Brian! Yep! All nine and a half fingers and twelve toes! LOL Malachite has always fascinated me as well! I think the color is SO vibrant in this material!

The 6th one looks like a genie is trapped inside it. I think by taking a picture of that that particular piece with my reflection turned it from Malachite into Dumbassite! LOL *I was going to say I didn't get any wishes from that genie...but I didn't want to admit to rubbing my rock last night! LOL

I think you treated that malachite righteously. Malachite done right. I'll be referencing this thread when the time comes for me to give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

I have a 7" wet tile saw that I've always used for cutting and shaping my preforms. This has been the ONLY material that I had as many issues on that saw. I don't know what was causing the issues, but the saw would basically shatter the material. So you might want to do a "test cut" to make sure your saw doesn't eat up the material...

As usual, they're stupendous. You didn't answer Tela's question, though. DID YOU WEAR A MASK?

As usual, they're stupendous. You didn't answer Tela's question, though. DID YOU WEAR A MASK? As usual, you're stupid Jason. You didn't WEAR A MASK! There...I fixed that for you! First let me say thanks for the compliment. Second...I was hoping no one would call me out for deflecting and not directly answering Tela's question! I could lie and say "yes"...but I won't. I know you're going to say it doesn't matter...but I did flood the wheels when I was working them...way more than I do working other material.

Soft or not man those are KILLER! Thanks Vance! I opted to leave a couple small pieces of the rough uncut. I may just see about throwing those in the tumbler someday...probably with obsidian.
