Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! I'm not sure you'll get enough replies from members who have actually gone there prior to your trip tomorrow. There's several threads by people who have made the trip out to Nether's Farm. If you do a search on here for "Ohio Flint" or "Nether's Farm or Nethers Farm" you should be able to read through some of the threads. I do know there's plenty of tailings from people who have dug out there...so by going as a family, you'll have plenty to pick up around the places already mined. Pretty cool "pre-gift" to take the family out hounding. That flint is some of the best polishing rock there is!

I have a few Ohio friends that visit that farm a few times a year... Excellent hounding area in the pits, etc... Just be nice to the elderly lady that owns the place. People have been ripping her off without paying for material...

You can find some good material with quartz crystals by checking out the scraps left by knappers up away from the pits. they break off all the crystal filled material that's not useful for them as Knappers but worth collecting for specimen, tumbling and cutting.
Bring thick gloves as the flint is sharp as knife and will cut bare hands up if not careful.
And definitely do right by Ms Nethers. Sweet lady and fifty cents a pound is a bargain anyhow.
