I have a Lortone 3A tumbler that I ran cotinuously for the last 4 or 5 months with no issues. I turned it off for a week or two and now, when I plug it in, the spindle won't turn. I've cleaned it up and it's always been oiled. The motor hums, but no turning, even if I try and move the spindle by hand. Any ideas of what I might look at to fix it?

remove the three small phillips head screws that hold the cover on and slip it off. With the cover off turn the tumbler on and see what if anything is moving. Is the pulley with the fan attached spinning? If nothing is moving and just hearing a hum then unplug it. Remove the belt and plug it back in. If the motor pulley and fan are not spinning with the belt off you have a motor issue. If that fan/pulley is spinning with the belt off then you have a roller issue or belt tension issue.
These are really simple machines and whatever it is will not be a hard fix. Cross fingers the motor is not the issue as that is the most expensive part but even those are pretty reasonable. All new bearings $8, New drive roller shaft $3.25 motor $35.
