Much better than I could ever dream of doing. Do you cut the heck out of your fingers when you knap? seems like that would be a problem

thanks all xena, I use a lether square to help hold the stone and now I wear gloves. Usually don't wear gloves when knapping flint but this obsidian was tearing me up

Nothing to be disappointed at, at all! That looks fantastic. How do you get your notches to come out so nicely? I'm still having a hard time with the pressure I am applying to the piece...it always seems like it wants to break right in half. Your doing an awesome job. Steve

Steve, I showed the pic of the one that came out right, not the one I broke in half. I try to get all the shaping done 1st, once I like that I do the tip and lastly i do the notches. I learned that if you get the shaping done (body) that you don't have to hold the arrowhead long ways - thus reducing the chances of breaking.
