This cab is so glossy it reflected my light tent at the bottom. I really like mooka. It polished so well and feels like one of the hardest materials that I have cabbed. I didn't get a pic of the back since it looks essentially the same as the front.
It's been so long since I've done prongs that I forgot how and messed up one of the wires right off the bat. This is a little off all the way round, but I like it cause it's mookaite.

Well, I take it back. It hasn't been that long since I did prongs. I was just brain farting.

I haven't done any prongs in a coon's age. I've had a thick slab of mooka for a long time. I just dread doing all that grinding. It REALLY is hard.

Very nice. That straight on photo makes it hard to depict the dome. Looks relatively flat. If so kudos on getting all the scratches out. Hard materials with low domes are tough for me. On that one I probably would have cheated and used the loto after the first two hard diamond wheels.

It's not real thick. I've done flatter. Mooka is crazy to polish same with real bloodstone, but the work is worth the results. I haven't thrown anything in the Lot-O, yet. I may, but I haven't, yet.

I have a few cheats in regards to that. I posted about combo cabs that were started on the genie, vibe tumbled and then finished on the genie before but I am sure those photos are gone thanks to photobucket. I need to make a tute for tumbled cabs that nobody could ever tell were tumbled. Great for things like Brazilian agate, Montana agate, tough jaspers and such. The part that I do that most don't is going back to the genie after to sharpen the girdle. Tumbled cabs are a dead give away with rounded over girdles. Chuck

Chuck I still buy cabs when I see a good one at a good price. One of my favorite sellers started tumbling. That rounded girdle is a dead giveaway. I was so mad that it wasn't disclosed. For a wrapper, especially, a rounded girdle just won't do.
I remember when you were posting about doing the combo. I thought you had done a tute.

A beauty Tela.
But from the other posts maybe I'm not too eager to grind any Mookaite.
But it sure is pretty, and a simple wrap is perfect to let the stone shine.

The hardest stones are the most rewarding. Yeah, they're more work, but, damn-- that shine.

I'll give praise for composition. Too often I'm tempted to try to incoporate a scene that is too busy when work with the mook. Yours is a simple but lovingly complex color scheme, and I like it.

I haven't seen a Mookaite cab yet that I didn't like, and I share the dread of shaping, etc. But boy, you sure did that one proud! I love the clean straight lines.

Thank you! Mookaite is one of my favorite stones. I don't see the quality I like to see anymore, but I do pick up a nice one once in awhile. I haven't seen a Mookaite cab yet that I didn't like, and I share the dread of shaping, etc. But boy, you sure did that one proud! I love the clean straight lines. Thank you, Susan. I love the yellow mooka, too. I may have some around here somewhere. Thanks! I'll take clean and classy.
