I got this slab years ago and it was not ID'd. I know it's from the Owyhees but don't know the name of the mine. I've searched Hans Gamma's first book and came up with some "possibles: Painted Desert, Bonanza and Shadow Mountain. Does anyone know for sure?

Maybe rockjunquie can look in his 3rd book that she just got and posted about and see if it's in there.

Yeah, I can look it up.

According to the images in the book, it isn't Bonanza or Painted Desert and I couldn't find Shadow Mountain. It looks most like Cripple Creek.

Colors, flow, and that faint lil speck of grey in the upper corner tells me it’s OG cripple creek

I agree that it is most likely Cripple Creek.

Thanks for your help rockjunquie , hummingbirdstones , realrockhound and QuailRiver . I agree it looks like Cripple Creek, which I've cut a lot of over the years. To my eye it has some differences. But I'll accept the "juried" consensus and call it Cripple Creek. Thanks all!
