Hello all, Started tumbling a couple of years ago but have been rockhounding since I was little. Love hiking with my dog and coming home with a pocket full of finds. I'm interested in taking it to the next level and working with lapidary equipment to form some beautiful pieces but can afford to spend a paycheck on anything new. I would like to join any clubs or rock co ops close to OSU, or just located in Oregon. I'm a little bum about just hearing I'm missing out on the Feather River Rock tumbling contest, the petrified wood addition and really don't want to miss out on another opportunity. Anyways, very happy I found this forum and look forward to many positive conversations. Thanks for reading and happy hounding!

Welcome from a fellow former Willamette Valley-an! Oregon is know for some great rocks, possibly the best Thundereggs in the world, or at least the most varieties. As a kid I so wanted to go on a Thunderegg dig but somehow my crazy parents didn’t see the same value in it as I did! One of these days I’ll finally get there for that dig. I started out with tumbling but haven’t done it in a while, instead am currently hooked on learning cabbing. There are many tumblers on here though, it’s a great place to ask questions!
