Dunking a basketball... That guy in the vid has the hops just not the handle (hands....provided that rim is 10')........I can teach anyone who can just finger grip a rim & palm a ball, how to dunk. It's all about getting the ball up and over the rim with grip........if you're on the shorter side of 6' and have some hops. I know guys over 6.4' with puppet palms who can't one hand but can two hand.........having a good size palm and strong grip makes all the difference.......you can develop hops through strength training........can't stretch palms much, that I'm aware of......lol.......I was a serious baller from 13 to 30, always had hops at a young age. Wasn't until my growth spurt at 17 when my hands and height reached potential.....at least the hands........never got any taller than 5-11.5'........nope never made 6' but could stuff a basket ball like any 6-5' guy.........lol......yes, I too had dreams of one day being able to dunk.......remember the date and place it 1st happened, November 25th, 1970 at a home game in high school..........All 5-11', 145lbs of skin & bones stuffing that ball as if I was Gail Goodrich.......dreamed quest fulfilled......! I could actually picture you dunking that basketball as I was reading this! Well...I'm 5'6" without shoes...I have ZERO "hop"...and my hands could barely palm a softball! LOL - The only way I'm palming a basketball is if my hand was facing upward and the basketball was resting on my hand! LOL

It's weird. I seem to have the ability to do most things as soon as I try them. The issue is I never get really good. I just reach a state of mediocrity. Wake boarding is a great example. We've taken lot's of people out and some all go all day without ever getting up. I learned back in the day on an old yellow Skurfer. I decided which way to put the bindings, jumped in the water and got up on my first attempt. It felt horrible. I knew right away I had the wrong stance. Dropped back into the water, switched the bindings and took off for a second time. It was worse. Dropped off and changed the bindings back and started again. I probably got up the first 15 times I tried before I finally failed once. But I went all the time and never got very good. I could never get enough air to clear the wake. It's like that with a lot of things!

Dunking a basketball... I had one afternoon of greatness dunking a basketball...cheating was involved through. At my cousins and we were using a small trampoline to get the air needed for greatness. His rim was mounted to a plywood backboard and on one of my jams I ripped the rim out of the board and brought it down with me. I landed with the rim and handed it to my cousin and walked away like the boss! I haven't been able to touch a rim since but I was cool for a minute .
