I made this eons ago, but I thought I would share. I got a wig jig back when- probably 15 years ago. I made this. It was supposed to be earrings, but when I got done with it- I was over doing it. You could say I went overboard with it. LOL! I never use the wig jig anymore.

I'm not sure I"d say overboard! It's a very interesting piece and looks like you had a blast making it. I've seen a lot of earrings with this type of shape to it and i bet it's got lots of movement (although I will say my hair would get all caught up in there ) I like it!

Yeah, I can't wear earrings like this because of my hair, too. I used to love them. I think they are referred to as the Peruvian style.

its true, the street vendors used to sell lots of options of wire-based ear rings, but I was not aware that it had become a "labeled brand". I'm sure my wife has some of the original (ala 1969-70 versions in her trove). If I can find them, I'll try to trot them forth. I like Tela's version but it is a bit complex. Cheers.

LOL! What a ball you must have had making these! I wouldn't wear them, but I would poke at them and enjoy the creativity and try to figure out the process. And there are elements of that design that standing alone would be stunning to me. I have a whole plastic container of "made" patterns that just didn't work, and yet--there's a place for them in the future. That is definitely a step above my container items.

I have a tub of those, too! I recently went through them and pitched a couple, but, yeah- I kept them for elemental inspiration or some idea that might work on something else.
I ended up making this a pendant. I didn't dare try to match another one! LOL! Besides, it ended up pretty big. I think my daughter has it now.

I'd love to see them! I had some from the late 80's, but I gave them to my daughter. I don't wear big, dangly earrings anymore.

"HOW MANY WIGS WOULD A WIG JIG JIG IF A WIG JIG COULD JIG WIGS?"
Okay...I had to get that out of my head! (Good luck getting that out of YOUR head...whoever's reading this! LOL)
I had to go look up what a wig-jig was! I actually REALLY like this! It has a similar type of look to it as a Dream Catcher. As an earring, I definitely could picture this pulling hair...and not in a "good" way! LOL

I really like this, too. It's super time intensive, so I never really pursued it.

If I'm going to make something, I'm more into something akin to this: ...than this! LOL **Kidding...kinda! I actually love doing something intricate...once! LOL

Tela that flipped me right back into the early 70's! Get some bell bottom ripped up jeans with Keep on Truckin' patches sewed all over them, a tie-dyed shirt and an army jacket and you're all set. ETA: I forgot the platform shoes!

ETA: I forgot the platform shoes! I'm getting flashbacks! But, I really liked those cute, cropped smock tops, too. And, the wooly boogers. I don't know what they were really called, but they were real short shaggy jackets- like fake fur and 70's shag carpet had a baby. LOL!

I think as a pendant it's good - lots of movement & I bet you had fun back then making it.
It is interesting to go back and re-look at things you made years ago.
I also have a Wig Jig and still find it useful for making repeatable bends. In fact I was thinking of a twisted wire design & was wondering if I could do it with it.
We shall see.
Thanks for showing it, Patty

Thanks, Patty. I was wondering where you had got off to.
It was fun to make. But when I got done, I didn't want to do it again. LOL!
