I was so excited to buy my first Lot-O! I read the various forum information, so knew there would be some quality issues. Wellllllllll...... The unit was not centered on the springs (OK, I can fix that....), when I plugged it in to just give it a trial run, the fans didn't move because one was right against the ends of the bolts that hold the motor in place (OK, so I slid the fan out, but it still barely cleared the end of the bolt). After some thought (and considering what seems to be a prevalence of motor challenges), I decided to contact the vendor. They very courteously took it back and gave me a refund.
I would have EXPECTED poor quality control from a tumbler from China. Between the cost and the "Made In America" declaration, I was rather disappointed in the unit (not the vendor's fault...working with them was great!). I have no problem paying for quality...but when it's not there.... grrrrrrrrr.....
So now, I'm without a vibratory tumbler. I was very much looking forward to being able to do the finer tumbling and polishing in it. Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to looking at options I go.
Thank you for listening to my vent.

Sorry you had such trouble. I moved the dowel on mine and it runs fine so far. I got mine in December I think. Great that the vendor gave great customer service.

Yeah, I didn't get to the point of actually trying out the machine with a load in it - so many little things that just weren't "right". Thinking maybe I got the last one from the manufacturer that was put together with whatever they had on hand, maybe before a holiday? Anyway.... And now we wait....

I believe the instructions say to NEVER run the Lot-O without a load? I noticed that when I read my inclosed instructions.
