Batch completed out of Lot O. Mixed rough from the Rock Shed and a few self collected. Still much to learn but I'm pleased with the polish. Noted quite a bit of bruising on some due to improper sizing (by me) of rocks in the 12 lb Lortone. My wife loves 'em, so it's all good. Does crushed rough have a lot of fracturing? I do like how the quartz crystal pieces shined up. This is the batch that was interrupted by a power outage that lasted about 5 hours on Saturday.

You know what they say, "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"! It looks like the power outage didn't do any harm to the polishing! I would think "crushed" rocks would have a ton of fracturing...but that's just what first "pops" into my mind...

Very nice bunch of rocks there! I'm finishing up a batch in the Lot-o now - trying to add in 1000 polish before moving onto rock shed's AO to see if I get better results - who knows! Fun experiment anyways...

Nice looking batch dirtsifter. Some of the bruising could be from a high percent of larger rocks. What a huge variety. Lots of colors and patterns there. Rock crushing or hammering can cause fractures. I try not to hammer on rocks unless I am targeting a specific flaw like a crack or pit. Thanks for showing.
