I posted this picture in the cab contest thread the other day. I'm wondering if anyone can I do some of these slabs. I think number one is Tabu Tabu, five is stromatolite and eight is Montana agate. I don't know what any of the others are. So, I'm looking for Id's for 2,3,4,6 and 7 Here are some wet and finished pictures to help.

I couldn't get the color of number five to work out. The blueish area should be a lot more white.

I think 7 could be a kind of Texas or Mexican Moss Agate...maybe "unnamed".

Number one "could" be brecciated Lavic...I've seen some pics that look like that one.

Number four looks Like Indian Blanket Jasper to me...

You are correct - 5 is stromatolite. Mary Ellen in particular.

I just slabbed some Indian Blanket...and it was pretty dang hard. The stuff I cut was easily a 7...

I just slabbed some Indian Blanket...and it was pretty dang hard. The stuff I cut was easily a 7...

Ok, maybe that's what it is then. I always thought it was a real soft one.

Not saying this is what you do...but in MY brain, I confuse Indian Blanket with Cherry Creek when I'm thinking of one or the other. I think they look so similar, that I momentarily confuse the two. Cherry Creek is wicked soft compared to the Indian Blanket I cut the other day.
