Went "rocking" and found about a 20 lb puddingstone! Any suggestions on polishing it up? I really don't want to break it apart, since it's cool as is. But - it certainly won't fit into any tumbler I currently have!

Holy cow, that's huge! Great find. Can't help you on polishing that beast, except maybe an angle grinder with diamond pads.

That's a nice one, Diane! Here are a few videos of me polishing big puddingstones. The first one is the oldest video, but the most complete in terms of instructions. The second one is very similar, but with a larger rock. The third one isn't very instructional, but is worth watching the beginning and end so you can have an idea of how happy you'll be when you get done with it. I love that last video. I did add 6,000 and 8,000 grits to my process, which aren't mentioned in the first two videos.

Yea Rob has Pudding stones down pat! I rewatch his videos anytime I'm jones for pudding stone (wish we had that around here, I would be tumbling it all the time lol) Closest we come is something called Olean Conglomerate, but it won't hold together in the tumbler.

I don't think we have a bag limit on puddingstones.... I did see there's a limit to Petosky stones, 25 lb/year.... Just sayin'....

IF they catch you there will be HELL TO PAY, but who is paying attention, and who really cares? Most places you could fill a dump truck of whatever sacred stuff and no one would even look.
