The also rans for this months contest, not completely done, the clearer ones aren't polished to a mirror on the back to a sufficient level of rock snobbery, yet. My first heart cabs in years, and definitely the first that I would call decent. Coprolite, Serape Lace, and 2 from the same seam agate, not sure of ID.

Nice job on all of them! At least for me, hearts can be tricky, and you managed it quite well. I like #2 and #3 the best, because I'm a sucker for the heart itself forming the top of the heart.

Although, I love the broken hearts, I gotta go for the last one. It looks like a Hallmark heart.

Well, that's my first piece of coprolite I've ever liked. Nice job turning ...*that* into a heart!

Nice job on all of them! At least for me, hearts can be tricky, and you managed it quite well. I like #2 and #3 the best, because I'm a sucker for the heart itself forming the top of the heart. I'm also fond of cabs that retain a "live" natural edge. It definitely shows that you put your heart into each of these Lee! Thanks. I still have a couple more preforms to finish, but I think I'm comfortable enough with the shape now, which was the goal. Although, I love the broken hearts, I gotta go for the last one. It looks like a Hallmark heart. It's the only one cut to match a template, the rest were drawn out with a circle template, ruler, and various round objects around the kitchen. I really like the material, wish I knew what it is. Nice job on those hearts, Lee! My fav is the last one. Any thoughts on what the material might be? It was in the estate I just got. Well, that's my first piece of coprolite I've ever liked. Nice job turning ...*that* into a heart! Thanks. We have thought about having a display for shows with various "message hearts". Coprolite for that beloved turd, fossil for that beloved old relic, maybe petrified wood you be my valentine?

Rockoonz no idea what that agate is. It sure is pretty, though, and that's all that really matters, right?
